Professional Musician
MATT VANCE is one of the top-call professional saxophone and woodwind performers in Florida and the southeast United States. He is a member of multi GRAMMY-nominated recording artists Chuck Owen and the Jazz Surge, performs regularly with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with many name artists throughout his career.
Studio Recording & Session Work
Utilizing high-quality recording equipment, an open creative process, and attention to recording artists’ and clients’ needs, Geaque Rhume Studios provides saxophone, woodwind and horn section additions to any and all styles of music. Matt is also available for custom voice-overs.
Music Industry
Since joining Buffet Crampon USA in 2006, Matt has been extensively involved in the national and international marketing of the woodwind brands and has produced product audio and video sessions for national and local retailers throughout North America. As a music industry and business veteran, Matt is available for clinics, lectures and master classes in music business, music entrepreneurship, product training, music education, and music performance.
Music Education
Matt spent 12 years teaching in higher education, primarily as Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Music at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Since 2001, Matt has also served as Visiting Guest Artist and Co-Artistic Director of Jazz: America’s Music at Southwest Virginia Community College in Richlands, Virginia.
Equipment
Matt performs on Buffet Crampon saxophones and clarinets, Julius Keilwerth saxophones, W. Schreiber bassoons and Verne Q. Powell Sonaré flutes.
