An industry veteran that understands the music behind the business
MATT VANCE joined Buffet Crampon USA, North American distributor/subsidiary of Buffet Crampon Group, in 2006 after a decorated career in collegiate music education. Matt is Buffet Crampon USA’s Woodwind Product Specialist and oversees woodwind quality control, research & development, and dealer/customer relations in the United States and Canada for the world’s largest professional wind instrument manufacturer. He is the North American liaison for the Buffet Crampon (clarinets, saxophones, oboes), Julius Keilwerth (saxophones), Verne Q. Powell (Sonaré and Signature flutes), Rigoutat (oboes and English horns) and Schreiber (bassoons) brands and their respective production facilities in France, Germany, Massachusetts, and China. Matt also works directly in Artist Relations with Buffet Crampon USA’s world-class Artist roster.
Since joining Buffet Crampon USA, Matt has been extensively involved in the marketing of the woodwind brands and has produced product audio and video sessions for national and local retailers throughout North America. Videos produced by Matt have been featured on the YouTube channels of Woodwind Brasswind, Music & Arts, and Musician’s Friend. He has also hosted videos in the #RhapsodyLive webcast series from Buffet Crampon, featured on the Buffet Crampon Rhapsody Live YouTube channel. Buffet Crampon USA’s #WePlayProdige Artist video campaign was created and produced by Matt, utilizing Artist testimonials to highlight and promote the brand’s Prodige student clarinet. He has also recorded audio product sessions as a sales tool for the Buffet Crampon USA sales team and BCUSA’s network of authorized dealers around the United States and Canada.
As a music industry and business veteran, Matt is available for clinics, lectures and master classes in music business, music entrepreneurship, product training/testing, music education, and music performance.
He has presented in-person and online product sessions and music business lectures at schools around the United States and Canada, including Appalachian State University, Brandon University, Charleston Southern University, Colorado State University, The Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam), Florida State University, the University of Florida, the University of Kansas, Northwestern University, the University of North Texas, Ohio State University, and the University of Texas (Austin). Matt is also happy to provide product sessions for music retailers and dealers in Buffet Crampon USA’s authorized dealer network.
